Re: Eurovision
I didnt watch the eurvision but my partner always flicks channels when the adverts are on and he saw some weird guys in masks singing so he watched thier performance.
I nearly wet myself laughing that much, what terrible lyrics, they seriously cannot be labelled metal... lol It is kinda kewel that a new kind of cheesy entry won though. ![]() |

Re: Eurovision
LORDI is metal, but very soft metal. their biggest asset to eurosong is their biggest mistake in the metalbusiness: their masks. They imply heavy metal, which they are clearly not giving to the metalfans out there. still I found their show quite entertaining - lyrics were laughingmaterial, but the masks ( and the axe) did it for me

Re: Eurovision
Now here's some off-topic news about Lordi for you non-finns:
The masks are very important for the band and the members never appear in public without them - nor do they give any interviews in front of cameras without the costumes and masks. As the band was returning from Athens the lead singer and the headman of the band (mr. Lordi) pleaded the finnish newspapers, magazines and paparazzi's to leave them in peace and not to try to shoot and publish any pictures of the band without the costumes and masks - and thus spoil the band's "identity". One finnish magazine didn't respect the wish and published big pictures of mr. Lordi. In about two days over 124 000 people have signed an internet address against the magazine, readers have cancelled orders and the magazine has been forced to close it's forum in internet. I'm sure that's only the beginning ![]() According to one media specialist the point here is that people are getting fed up with the way the some sensation-based magazines are making their business - without any respect of privacy. |

Re: Eurovision
Lordie have signed contracts that do not allow them to reveal their true faces. Thats why they try to hide them so much, not an easy task to do.and this sounds like a challenge to reporters while it should sound like a reason to learn to respect some peoples privacies.
beyond that i kinda liked that song, although i would have never expected it to win.i guess eurovision evolves over time |
