Interview

I contacted the press section of sub-pop today to see if there was any chance of an interview with the Postal Service, I'll let you know what happens.

Unfortunately the Postal Service are on hiatus until the release of their next album, so no interviews until then

yeah, i didn't think you'd be able to get one, considering there are practically NO interviews with them on the internet

maybe in 2007, haha

why not? it's such a successful side project, if they don't do it for the sheer enjoyment then they'll do it to generate more income. Ben & Jimmy are both sitting on a little goldmine. it's only a matter of time before they start mining.

they already are semi-mainstream, but i don't think they're commercial... and i think they'll do another one, eventually, but there is a possibility that they won't i guess.

i think all artists want to become more famous, but i don't know if they want to go "commerical" exactly... i guess it depends on your definition of commercial. but the postal service is already really famous in my opinion.

I just said that to start a discussion, I think they probably will do another one, but what are the chances that it will be as good as give up?

trans > facts > photo > airplanes = plans > chords

because that's the way it is!

seriously though, the lyrics were frighteningly mediocre, and half of the songs are very very forgettable. it's not a bad cd, but it's not amazing. i just have waaay too high of expectations for dcfc, so a cd that is only good is very very disappointing.

Plans is my least favourite album. Too much keyboard, not enough guitar, too clean.
i think the next postal service album will be great, because Jimmy will make the beats at home like he always does instead of going to a studio to make something even better only to dissapoint his fans.

As for TPS being mainstream, I would say it is. Who doesn't know about the postal service these days?
