I have to agree, X&Y is just bad. Nothing like their old stuff (but let's face it, people always say that bout every band).
Viva La Vida? Different. It's not the same sort of Coldplay from before, very experimental (for Coldplay anyway). I think there's much more improvment in some of the lyrics, (although Chris Martin still doesn't have the lyrical greatness of Jeff Magnum or Andre 3000).

My views? They were pretty good to begin with, although they tended to have a same-old-sound thing going on for most of it, but I think they've definitely improved. They're pretty intense.

I like coldplay alot, but they gradually seem to get more and more pop sounding with every album. If you trace back to when they 1st emerged they were alot better (in my opinion) I'm still a fan though. It would be nice to see them get back to their roots though.

i love Coldplay, I have all of their albums. i would die without them!!! and they're not up themselves!!! or overatted, seeing as all they are is extremly good!!

I loathe coldplay. I'd rather listen to a 3rd grader learning to play twinkle twinkle on a violin than listen to a coldplay song.

Chris Martin's voice makes me want to stab someone in the face with a soldering iron.

The lyrics are unoriginal, the music is generic, and they're soft and poppy enough that you can hear them on almost every radio format (I know in my local market coldplay plays on The top 40 station, the adult contemporary station, the easy-listening station, the "alternative" station and the soft-rock station) so there's virtually no escaping them!
