Favorite Book

Do you have a favorite book? Mine has to be Go Ask Alice. It is about a teen that is struggling secretly with drug addiction, it is a great read and I would suggest that you allow your teens to read it so that they can understand the dangers of drug use.

Moby Dick has been my favorite book ever since I was able to read. The first few times that I read it I only knew a few words and then I read it many more times over the years and saw how great of a novel it really is.

I really like picture books! I am not much for reading, I would rather have a book on tape then sit there and read the book.

There is nothing wrong with picture books Marvin. I have to live reading them almost everyday since my daughter loves them. I kind of like them too.

Re: Favorite Book

One of my favourite books is Hannibal by Thomas Harris. I loved the way it explained how he became the way he was.

So now I'm anxious to read Hannibal Rising and see the movie, too.

Has anybody checked those out yet?

Re: Favorite Book

Ah, how I love to read. And what a question! My favourite book? No, I couldn't possibly narrow it down to just one choice.

I recently read Flowers for Algernon. An absolutely beautiful book.
I love the Imperial Blandings series by P.G Wodehouse.
Some of you might notice my name and it's origin. Yes, I love The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Decline and Fall
by Evelyn Waugh is a fantastic book.
The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett.
And anything by Stephen King!

I loved the book "Go Ask Alice". My favorite though has to be Annie Franks Diary. I loved reading that book.

Re: Favorite Book

I've been reading the Jeeves stories by P.G. Wodehouse lately. They're quite funny.

Re: Favorite Book

The Longest Cave by Roger Brucker and Richard Watson. Cool book, about a bunch of people exploring a cave system over about 20 years in Kentucky. They finally proved, in the 1970s, that "their" cave system actually connects up with the Mammoth Cave system nearby, making it the longest surveyed cave in the world up to that time...and so it still is.

If you've never been in a cave, you should go sometime. They are amazing places. But go to a cave that gives tours, and stay on the trail. Caves are beautiful, but they are also dangerous and can be easily harmed. You are not a cat...you cannot necessarily get out of anyplace you can get into. And no, I'm not kidding.

Re: Favorite Book

My favorite books I own are really bizzarre or messed up children's books...
The Phantom Tollbooth, Rootabaga Stories, Dreams of a Rarebit Fiend.
But lately I've been getting into true stories like Darwin Awards, PostSecret and Found series.
I like stupid books too, I own the Engrish book and Stuff on My Cat.
