Queens of the Stone Age/Eagles of Death Metal

A couple of my favorite bands...
It's so funny because on the other hand I listen to a lot of 60s-70s pop/rock n' roll and some punk and indie.
But anyway, what are your thoughts? Have you seen them live?

I've seen Queens of the Stone Age live. Saw them at Reading 2005. They absolutely rocked. I was near the front of the crowds, near the stage and it was madness! But such a brilliant experience.

I have not seen them live, but I got their last album. I thought it was pretty good.

Ooh, lucky you! A friend of mine was considering flying across the country to California to seeing them at Coachella. I want to go but I think we'll wait it out rather than spend so much even though it'd be worth it!

Blimey! I like them, but I don't think I'd pay to fly across the country to see them!

Now, if it was a small, intimate gig with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, then I might be inclined to say otherwise...

I enjoy listening to QotSA, however I don't have any of their albums in my collection. I like their innovative guitar riffs and insane lyrics

They (QOTSA) have some great songs, but I've always found their albums kind of a let down. Particularly if you take into account how amazing all three Kyuss albums were. Suppose QOTSA just can't fill those shoes for me. I prefer like the Dessert Sessions stuff too.

Everyone talks about how great Kyuss is...now if they are so much better than QoTSA, then I am REALLY interested in this...
ps they have a new album coming out this year called Era Vulgaris, and I heard there's already a new single.

I knew the new album was imminent, but thanks for the heads up on the single.

Oh, it's called 3's and 7's btw.

Oh, Fu Manchu are worth a visit too. I have been rocking them tonight, very riffy.

My friend had given me the title of it but I deleted that text he sent me by accident, as well as the email sent to me from the QoTSA mailing list. I haven't really had time to get into any new music. Grr.
My desktop background is some weird graphic they sent along with the mailing, of two lightbulbs with faces and standing on arms, one dressed like a pirate and the other cracked and smoking a cigarette. Not sure what they're about but I kinda hope it's not the album art...doesn't seem fitting.
Funny stuff though.

Re: Queens of the Stone Age/Eagles of Death Metal

Has anyone seen the video for Sick Sick Sick yet? I'm not sure if it made it to YouTube yet, I've only seen it on Yahoo Music.
I was so excited!
Not visually exciting, at least not for guys unless you like watching some rich lady stuff her face with questionable foodstuffs...but it was for me, especially since hitting the Julian Casablancas cameo on the nail (OMGZ is that Jules? That's so Jules...I'm checking Wikipedia. ITS HIM!) You hear him but you don't see him.
I can't wait for Era Vulgaris.

No, haven't seen this one yet. I'm sure it's pretty cool - I like their videos!
