Orgy

Anyone here anything by Orgy?

I've got a remix of Blue Monday by them which is absolutely brilliant, and unless I'm getting confused, they also did a decent track called Fiction (Dreams in Digital).

Ring any bells with anyone?

Re: Orgy

Orgy's first album is good- the one with the Blue Monday cover- Candya$$. I heard a lot of potential in that album but was really disappointed by their subsequent releases. I am kind of picky about my sound though and my genre. I listen to primarily industrial and i think that people get mixed up about what the industrial sound really is. Electronic music on Mtv is still mainstream to me, and there are only a few that really stand out with some kind of original sound. I think a lot of mainstream bands are carbon copies. I was hoping for more from Orgy, but that first album is really cool.

Re: Orgy

I was watching New Order's video of Blue Monday for the first time last night and was disappointed. I expected something dark and gloomy. I told my younger brother that he would have liked Orgy's video better, and when asking him if he wanted to see it, I threatened to post the video on his Myspace...which...I actually need to do right now...

Re: Orgy

New Order weren't normally dark and gloomy in their vids, where they?

I guess maybe the dog was a little disappointing - but I love the True Faith video.

Never seen the Orgy vid - do they have one, and if so, what's it like?

N.O. is 80's pop.. very mainstream at the time that they were producing records. There was just a certain sound going around at that time, because a lot of the same instruments were being used by a lot of bands as the technology was improving. You want to hear something funky... listen to Joy Division's "Love will Tear us Apart". It iis probably the saddest song i have ever heard, lyric wise, but the music itself is very upbeat and even dancy in that 80's pop way. If at all possible, find Human Drama's cover of that song. The music matches the lyrics and it will make you cry.

Re: Orgy

Just adding a random fact here but:

Orgy was the first signee of Korn's label, Mushroomhead, and the first single Candyass went platinum. It might be more by now.

That said, I've never been able to find their stuff in CD shops.
