Who is your favorite metal band amongst these?

I voted Blind Guardian. Someone at work told me about em, I'm turning into a big fan.

Iron Maiden, for the following reasons:

Within Temptation - I have some stuff by them but not enough to turn me into a fan just yet.
Cradle Of Filth - Ugh, cat-in-a-blender watered-down black metal. This black metal ist not krieg.
Children Of Bodom - Eh, okay, but there's much better melodeath out there.
Suicide - Haven't heard of them.
Cannibal Corpse - No. Just no.
The Haunted - Haven't heard anything.
Nightwish - Love this band but I'd have to place Maiden over them.
Dimmu Borgir - More watered-down black metal.
Iron Maiden - The winners easily. Consistently put out amazing material. I love songs such as "The Wicker Man," "Dance of Death," "2 Minutes to Midnight," etc. Classics.
Blind Guardian - I can't seem to get into this band. They're good, and I like them, but not all that much.

I voted Nightwish. I just love the album Once. Tarja's vocals, the music-all backed by an orchestra is just amazing. I bet most if not all they're songs would sound even more fantastic with an orchestra.

I like Nightwish the most. I don't like all their songs, but they do have some that are excellent. Too bad Tarja Turunen is no longer in the group.

These bands are all from different metal kinds. I believe it's ok to compare Dimmu Borgit with Cradle of Filth but I don't think that Dimmu Borgir can be compared with Nightwish, they are totally different metal genres.

i'm gonna have to go with Iron Maiden, there's nothing you can say wrong about them. Just amazing music.
