Warped Tour lacking in the PUNK support...
Well it seems every year a new bigger corporation tags there logo beside the warped one. Warped tour back in the day was pure skateboarding and the music that goes with that scene, punk music. Now a days there is hiphop booths, hiphop bands playing in their tents, and emo bands playing shows.
What has happened to Warped Tour, bands like Anti-Flag, The Casualties, NOFX, Rancid have still stayed on it, but why support a tour that is full of crap. THIS TOUR IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY NOW ADAYS. The reason they don't keep it purely punk is because there is more money getting a poppy emo band to play as it will attract more people - those people buy the merch, the sodas and make everyone more money. This tour sucks and I really don't see any reason to support it anymore. So who is with me and ready to start a REAL punk tour...all local unsigned hardcore bands that put on REAL good shows, we will show those big corps. whose running the show. |

I'll admit, Warped is no longer about PUNK. I still like a lot of the bands playing though. AFI, Rise Against, Alexisonfire, Bouncing Souls, Comeback Kid, Anti-Flag!
All good bands IMO, I enjoyed myself last year too. I do see where you're coming from though Mike. I'm hoping to be able to through my own festivals one day though. |

I agree that Warped tour has lost most of it's original appeal, but how would you organize something like that?
