Thom Yorke
I've been hearing a lot abot him recently but never mae the connection that he is Radiohead's lead singer!
I got a chance to listen to him today at the record store and was so impressed. Really good and really different. It's a completely different sound than radiohead and it has awesome electronic beats. Any other listeners? |

I've been listening to it a bit more, its grown on me. Lyrically "Harrowdown Hill" is superb. But I think to dismiss the contribution of the other radiohead members would be very foolish. Greenwood in particular.

A real good album though I'm really just anxious for a new radiohead album.

Re: Thom Yorke
It strikes me as odd that it's been made into such a big deal that The Eraser is a solo album. As far as I'm concerned, The Eraser is the newest Radiohead album. When it all comes down to it, Thom Yorke always wrote all the songs, and Nigel Godrich always produced them (apart from Pablo Honey, and I try not to mention that album).
Thom Yorke even said himself. "Don't call it a solo album. [...] I've been in the band since we left school and never dared do anything on my own, and it was like, "This is getting stupid." It was like, "Man, I've got to find out what it feels like," you know? And it was good. It was a really good time." But wow, what an album. I can't stop listening to it! |

Re: Thom Yorke
I saw Thom Yorke a few weeks ago walking through Primrose Hill Park, i didn't even realise it was him until he'd walked passed me. The man is a living legend. it made my day. I only wish i'd recognised him from a distance because i would've told him how much i worshipped the ground he walked on. The Eraser is undoubtedly phenomenal.

I agree with this, but i feel the reason it was a 'solo' album was because i reckon the lyrical content would've perhaps have been seen as too political to be bracketed with Radiohead. There's quite clearly a personal political message coming over in this album from Thom, something i feel more people should be listening to. |
