hha im with kingmob on this one. but who would consider death cab emo? i mean emo pretty much started with ppl in the tight cuorduroys and the thick rimmed glasses listening to death cab and other stuff like that and its slowly evolved. i think death cab was kind of at the heart of the emo movement.

Just cause a link says it doesn't make it true.

I think that enough people consider them it for FOB to be generally called emo. Hell, pretty much anyone who keeps talking about cutting their wrists and shit.

just because u can find a link from some second rate music site doesnt mean its right about death cab. if u wanna call death cab mroe indie than emo u can go to hell because they have been on MTV which clearly makes them not indie. and they are definitely not indie anymore esp since they left barsuk for atlantic. death cab is way more emo than indie.

very true. just because a link says so doesn't make it true. HOWEVER. As I was buying "emo" records in the mid 1990's long before the advent of Death Cab I think It may be backed by first hand experience. Check out this forum: www.collectivezine.co.uk

Start a thread stating "death Cab are emo" and see what happens. I dare you.

Furthermore, it was YOU who claimed DCC are one of the most important "indie" bands of the last decade. Now your telling me they aren't "indie" at all? Your a bigger retard than your president.

haha. let's leave bush for the green room. and i did not say death cab was indie, i merely said they were influencial, look at the list of bands i listed after them that i said were influenced by death cab, clearly not indie, i also said smashing pumkins was influencial, but clearly not influencial to the indie scene. andd when i say death cab was there at the start of the emo scene i was speaking more about the ppl than the music. youre right, there was a great deal of emo in the mid 90s, but at that time the way emo ppl and punk ppl dressed was barely distinguishable, in the later 90s bands like death cab and and thursday and the juliana theory changed the identity of emo. there was a great shift in the way emo ppl acted and dressed. this was about the time you get the girls pants, the eyeliner, etc, etc. i realize that ppl did act like that before this time but it came on a much larger scale after this point.

According to that link, 3.5 million other people didn't have a clue what Emo was either. I'm genuinely not bothered about minor differences between genres and see this as being an American form of New Wave. If I like something I don't care whether it is Punk, Metal, New Wave, Glam, Emo or the death strains of neo-classical-post-traumatic-modernist-romantic-pulp-rock. If it's good, it falls under the genre of 'Good'; stuff all else.

Emo is a whimsical, American comedian from the 90's.

Re: Lets keep the emo forum emo.

Is there any reason you keep making new accounts to post random letters SpeedoMeedo?
