Dashboard Confessionals

I know this thread won't make Kingmob happy, sorry

I'll admit I liked their song "Vindicated" but besides that I really can't listen to them, they bore me to death.

Dashboard is evil moron music that rots your brain and turns you into a drooling bufoon. Fuck Dashboard. Fuck kids in "cheer up emo kid" t-shirts. Fuck the middle class heartless spoilt trash shit for brains generation all the way straight to hell.

Sure. You start out liking it and not being "one of those kids". Then before you know it, your typing shit like "LOL!!OMG!!!" and wearing girls jeans.

Hahaha
I know Samoid personally, it'd never happen.
Even though it'd be funny as shit to see him in girl pants.

If Samoid is who I think he is...

If that's Sam from Petsmart, well, the thought of him in girls jeans is nauseating...

This is Clif, by the way. (Not that I'd look better in girls jeans. In fact, I wouldn't want to see any of us wearing them.)

It's a shame how in today's music scenes bands get defined by the common perception of their fanbase. I really liked some of Dashboard's earlier songs, but it's impossible to admit that in most places without being made fun of because most of their fans are 14 year old girls now. Of course most of the people who do that mocking are 16 year old boys, or their emotional equivalents, so I don't know where that leaves us.

Fighting over the internet is like running in the special olympics, CAPS LOCK is cruise control for cool, and my e-penis is bigger than yours.

Hey Clif! Glad to see you signed up!
You also make a good point, people judge bands by their fan base.

Your first point had wings, but then you fucked it by spouting platitudes allover the fucking shop.

I think bands/artists are responsible for the audience they attract. If, case in hand, you write sappy braindead teen-angst lyrics like :

"Close lipped
Another goodnight kiss
Is robbed of all its passion
Your grip
Another time is slack
It leaves me feeling empty" (grabbed at random from many other possibles)

You are clearly going to attract a bunch of morons/teenagers (same difference).

You don't like the interweb humor?

Well then, you really wouldn't have liked the picture of Chuck Norris I tried to upload as my user icon.

But seriously...

I'm not totally defending Dashboard, because the singer does seem like a completely self-absorbed douche a lot of the time, but if you go around picking through any band's lyrics you can find some really stupid sounding lines, especially taken out of context of the rest of the song.
