New Thursday Album

So I saw the new Thursday album was out, and I was tremendously disappointed. I've been listening to them since Waiting, and Full Collapse is still one of my favorite albums ever, but this new one, A City by the Light Divided, just sounds tired.

I had read somewhere that they had broken up for a while, and it definitely sounds like their hearts aren't in it anymore. It sounds half-assed, the kind of thing you'd do at 2 a.m. when it's due the next day. War All the Time, while not as much of a visceral thrill as Full Collapse, had its moments and never felt phoned in, but I found myself wanting to get the new album over with as quickly as possible.

I think this band has always been terribly over rated.

Ya they were considering breaking up. I've never really liked them, I was into one of their recent songs but aside from that...

Best Thursday story. They left Victory Records because the label boss pressed up something like 10,000 Thursday Whoopee Cushions to promote their new album.
