The Blood Brothers
Ok so, is anyone else as in love with these guys as I am? I'm not big into hardcore simply because the volume of absolute crap that comes along with the good stuff is staggering, but evertime i hear these guys, they grab me. Uber-complex and thrashingly energetic, The Blood Brothers are kinda like if you took The Mars Volta, subtracted everything they ripped off of Muse, and added a butt load of odd imagery, you'd have The Blood Brothers.

They sure are different to say the least.
About 2 minutes into "Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck" they burst into hardcore rockyness. I like their style a lot but don't quite see the Mars Volta connection. Edit: I found their music here btw: http://www.purevolume.com/bloodbrothers |

They have their moments, but for me most of the early material was more interesting. I do love some of the bands that influenced them, primarily the early Gravity stuff. Antioch Arrow in particular is a big influence I'd say, much more so the Muse. There's actually a new Gravity band called Space Horse, that rocks the San Diego style but has the added pedigree of original members of Heroin, Camera Obscura and so on.

I don't find myself in the mood for them that often and when I do it's mostly early stuff though it's all good.

Re: The Blood Brothers
I've seen them live so much because they're from my hometown. Sick band, I generally prefer their early stuff over their later stuff. Burn Piano Island Burn is probably my favorite album though, Ambulance Vs. Ambulance, and Fuckings Greatest Hits are my favorite songs.

This guy knows what he's talking about. Both of those songs are probably my favorite... Though I would have to add "Trash Flavored Trash" and "Teen Heat" |

Re: The Blood Brothers
Back before Crimes was released, it was leaked in a demo version, I think. It had twenty-something tracks, some good extra songs, and then was cut down to size for the official release. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? That demo album is the only thing I ever listened to by them, and I thought it was perfect.

I've never seen the demo version. But I love Crimes. Love Rhymes with Hideous Car Wreck is probably my favourite song off the album. I also have Adultery is Ripe but I definitely favor Crimes. I wish there were more bands like them in the UK.
