Anyone have listened to the ROTK soundtrack?

Is it that good? Hearing people say it's the best out of three.

Thumbs up Re: Anyone have listened to the ROTK soundtrack?

I have been listening to it nearly every day on the way home from work. It is a wonderful soundtrack. I have only heard the first two soundtracks while watching the movies so I can't fairly say that the third is better. But I can say that I love the ROTK soundtrack. I agree with Amidala that "Into the West" is a great song and it's made me want to look into more of Annie Lenox's music. My favorite track is "The Steward of Gondor," the song with Pippin's solo.

Re: Anyone have listened to the ROTK soundtrack?

I really like the LOTR soundtracks overall - there's a very real and original power in it. Absolutely excellent.

FOTR has more rounded tracks, which form the foundations for most of the music that follows, and Two Towers is more a general Pot Pourri. ROTK adds somewhat to the repertoire - and I quite agree that the Pippin solo is one of the best tracks on it (superb use of pathos in the film as well - the fact you never see the riders fall adds to the haunting feeling).

Overall, superb music.

I'd have to agree with these guys that the ROTK soundtrack is excellent. I don't know if I like it as much as the Two Towers soundtrack though. I love that Rohan theme!

That is quite a bargain.

I heard they recently lost a fight with the British Phonographic Association - effectively, the British RIAA. CD Wow and a couple of others were done for importing CDs from overseas.
