What did you think about the mid-terms

Since just about everything that happens in the US affects Canada in one way or another the mid-term elections were big news here in Canada

And the results were shocking, I can't believe that the Democrats now have power of both the House and Senate.

So how much positive/negative impact do you think that this will have on the US and how the US is seen around the world?

I think a lot of the things that the American people hated about the republicans, the war in particular, will be changed, I wouldn't be suprised if we pulled out of the war in the next year or two.

Its funny because on FOX News they were saying that since many of the democrats are moderates that the republicans actually have more control and that the liberals are spinning things to look like they are in control... how ironic.

They're pointless and voting in them is pointless, the only people that actually win are the politicians.

"I don't vote, it only encourages them"
Best bumper sticker I've ever seen.

Essentially all this means is the US is going to pull out of Iraq leaving a much bigger fucking mess than was there before they went in. Plus now there are 650,0000+ dead civilians who's relatives all have good reason to Hate the Great Satan for another generation.

It also signals I belive that the Republicans are likely to distance themselves from the Religious Right to some degree. Mcain, Gulliani, Arnie, all did better by distancing themselves from Dubya.
