Nation of Ulysses
To me they're more post-hardcore than emo though almost everything I read calls them emo. The vocals have to be the best thing about this band and some of the most kick ass vocals ever. They're very unique and a friend described them as a white go that thinks he's James Brown And it would be hard to believe if Fugazi and them influenced each other. Well I hear it and they were on MacKaye's label. 13 Point Program favorite album and they're one of my favorite DC bands. Some of the members have also been in a couple other bands The Make-Up, Weird War, Scene Creamers, David Candy and Cupid Car Club. I don't know if any are any good but I'm gonna check them out.

Yeap, the NOU are essential stuff. I think people class them with emo more than posthardcore due to the intensity. They really rip into it, where as post-hardcore to me suggests stuff a little more considered.
