Jeff Buckley

Got introduced to this man by Scott. Have loved his album Grace for almost a year now, just wondering if his album Mystery White Boy is of the same kind of material?

Who's a fan then?

That album is brilliant. Sheds a whole new light upon his proper studio album, Grace.

Check it out.

Re: Jeff Buckley

Wow, only three posts on Sir Jeff Buckley His Majesty? I thought everyone was absolutely crazy about him now that everybody and their grandmothers are covering Hallelujah. Poor Leonard Cohen.

Back when I lived in a collective we just to say grace before eating by quoting lyrics from Grace.

"Oh drink a bit of wine we both might go tomorrow. Amen."

Anyway, Jeff, Jeff, Jeff. If there's one musician to have taught me all I know about music, it must be him. What genius, what brilliance, what perfection to lie within the confines of a compact disc. What tragedy that he be taken from us so early, before releasing those other twelve albums that would've absolutely changed the musical world.

Jeff died 9 years and 10 months ago. I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to light a candle in two months, to honor the memory of the greatest musician of the 1990's.

Oh and. If you don't own a copy of Grace, you haven't truly lived. I envy you. Now go buy it.

Re: Jeff Buckley

Grace is an amazing album from beginning to end, and about the people covering Hallelujah they need to stop. Every cover i've heard is okay I guess but aftering hearing Jeff's I can never get through them without wanting to put his on. Last Goodbye is probably my favorite song at the moment, but that changes.

Re: Jeff Buckley

Jeff Buckley had the best voice in the world. It's a shame he died before his second album since the stuff on Sketches For My Sweetheart, The Drunk is extremely good. Imagine if he was still alive today. =(

Re: Jeff Buckley

Nice to see a Jeffie topic on the first page upon joining

Mystery White Boy is arguably better than Grace, as he was so expressive and explored what he could do with the songs live. The Road Version of Eternal Life for example, is a better rock song than the original version.
