The Fratellis

Esme's cousin's band, which is quite tasty really. Brilliant upcoming Scottish band. I love em.

Myspace or Official Site.

I suggest you all download/buy Creeping Up The Backstairs. That's a quality tune.

Thoughts?

I'm sure they have a gig in Arbroath tonight. I only found out last night though.

Bastard. Reminds me of the babyshambles heartbreak at Fat Sams. Still gutted!

They gigged last night in Glasgow I believe. Would have loved to have went, though was sold out.

Saying that, to the disco made up for that brilliantly

They popped up on my last.fm reccomendations, and were the 'most obscure' if I remember. Been meaning to check them out, sounds like a resounding yes.

Check out their website, they have an acoustic version of Creepin' Up The Backstairs. You have to sign up to the site though, it's worth it, however.

I am really getting into them now, I've read on a few sites that they are like Arctic Monkeys. Although when I listened I thought it was nothing like the Monkeys.

I think the comparison between them and the Arctic Monkeys is the hype and everything that is going into them. Not the music. For example many people who I have spoken to (even lolabum!) suggest that the Fratellis will be as big as the arctic monkeys one day - and we need to see them in wee venues.

To which I missed out on ABC2 tickets. If anyone has any spares, thanks

Tried phoning Seetickets - i.e. the place where the fratellis suggest we bought the tickets from. No luck there.

Looked up the ABC website and found a link to Ticketweb, though they said they weren't on sale through them.

WTF?

I'd never properly heard them before (even though they are my 2nd cousin's band also). I followed that link to their MySpace, and realised how good they are! The song on there, The Gutterati, is so fast and upbeat, to me it sounds nothing like Arctic Monkeys. I reckon the lead singer (John Paul i think his name is) sounds a tad like Johnny Borrel, though i'm often told i'm not good at sound a likes.
