There's varying speculation about this. He's denied it on the libertines.org forum, saying that it was a staged photo he did that he never meant to leak to the public; someone stole his laptop. Also, many people have pointed out that there's no tourniquet on her arm, making it pretty difficult to find a vein. So.. who knows.

Has the fan in question spoke out at all?

I've seen speculation that Pete was removing the needle from her arm in case it snapped in the vain causing problems.

There was also a bit of speculation that perhaps the woman was diabetic and needed insulin, hence no tourniquet and a collapsed fan.

Though, saying that it was staged sort of disproves those two theories, eh? Bit of a stupid excuse/reason though.

To be totally honest i've got past the point of caring for Pete anymore. He's a knobhead in my books who's abused all the chances he's had.

The girl has said that they were taking a bit of each others blood to do a painting, as Doherty has done many times in the past.Either way, the daft cow deserves it for being one of those idiotic groupies that hang around him. They make getting him clean 100 times harder.

Still, he lives the rocknroll dream. If he starts making the tunes again I wont care what he does.

Staged photo, blood to do painting.. all seems a bit farfetched.

Personally, i prefer my "taking the needle out the vain" theory, and she doesn't want to get done like Pete has for heroin.

Still. He's went down in my book of respect.
