Porcupine Tree
I love this band. They've got the relaxing, atmospheric traits of Pink Floyd blended in perfectly with the prog of Dream Theater and the heaviness of Opeth. I've yet to hear a Porcupine Tree song that I can say I dislike.
Standout songs: Shesmovedon, Shallow, The Sound of Muzak |

Myspace - for anyone interested
I must admit, I really like Shallow. It's a really cool song. I'll check out the others you have suggested later on ![]() |

To be really honest, I didn't find it as heavy as I was expecting. If that's the heaviest song, then i'll be sure to definately check out the rest. I'm not really that much into heavy music, but that certainly was something very different.

Trains is easily my favorite Porcupine Tree song, there's just this certain... feeling to it. Amazing.
Shallow's pretty awesome, too. Blackest Eyes comes close to it in heaviness. And the Opeth comparison is pretty right on. Steve Wilson and Mikael Akerfeldt work together often. |

Thumbs up, brilliant band. Just got On The Sunday Of Life and Up The Downstair today, now all I need is Stupid Dream.
Which I really, really hope will be released in a jewel case. God I hate digipacks. My Up The Downstair is crumpled, I might end up getting it replaced. |
