Dream Theater
Progressive metal at its best. These guys, quite frankly, are untouchable when it comes to pure talent. The stunning guitar work of John Petrucci, complimented perfectly by the shredding keyboards of Jordan Rudess and technical basslines of John Myung, kept in rhythm by Mike Portnoy's Modern-Drummer-Hall-of-Fame-twelve-years-running-worthy beats all mix together to form some of the most amazing music ever.
Standout tracks: Afterlife, Pull Me Under, The Mirror, Lie, Space-Dye Vest, A Change of Seasons, Peruvian Skies, Beyond This Life, Home, The Glass Prison, Stream of Consciousness, Panic Attack, Octavarium... I could go on and on. |

Yep, they played it at the Evening With show I went to. I was never a huge fan of the song until I saw it live, but it blew me away, especially the guitar solo. Isn't it going to be on the upcoming DVD? That'll be great.

Man, I wish I were better with words so that I could express how much I love Dream Theater. They practically got me into music, and there isn't a single song I've heard that I don't love.
Standout Tracks: Endless Sacrifice, Blind Faith, These Walls, A Change of Seasons, Metropolis Pt. 1, Strange De Javu, Trial of Tears... man, I have to stop myself. |
