What do you guys reckon about the Marshall EH-1, RF-1 and RG1?
I'm seriously considering the Marshall RG-1 Regenerator Modulation. The only thing i'm worried about is the quality compared to dedicated pedals (the Marshall has two types of chorus, flanger, phaser, step phaser and vibe all built in to one) Though for £60. It's good value.

Any suggestions as to what is better
![]() I'm now thinking more towards the echohead. I've wanted a delay pedal for a while and this is one that has been said to challenge the DD-3 and DD-6. I've looked at a few reviews and it seems very reliable. I also looked at reviews of the RG-1. Apparently the Chorus and the Phaser (bar the step phaser) are piss poor. So i won't be purchasing that. Found the EH-1 on GAK for just a smidgen over £52. Which is ace compared to the retail of £65.

I personally love my DD-3 (and wish I saved up a bit more for the DD-6, what with those nifty extra features). For Chorus, I'd go with the Boss Chorus Ensemble or the Dunlop Rotovibe (both have good and bad reviews). The best Phaser I've read about is the MXR 90 (the same Eddie Van Halen used).

The MXR 90 is a very up front phaser, I was ocnsidering getting a Small Stone, not as in your face, can be if you want, but can also be subtle.
A Boss for a Chorus is a good bet, as are the DD-3 and DD-6, though I love my Line 6 modeler. I have a Marshall pedal though, and they do work well, I love my sound. |

I bought a Flanger the other day. Brilliant stuff
Looking towards getting a distortion tomorrow.Um, I tried the Super Shifter and it's a bit pants. However I didn't really get a real good shot of it so i'd take that with a pinch of salt ![]()

Re: Pedals
if you want decent, cheap pedals in a small stomp box, boss style check out Behringer's range. The build quality isn't great (tough plastic instead of boss' metal), but provided you're not jumping on your pedals from a great height then this shouldn't matter. Sonically there's very little difference between the boss and behringer pedals, so much so that Boss recently tried to sue Behringer for basically using identical circuitry. you'll pay £15 quid for most of the Behringer range, apart from the delay, whereas the boss ones start from about £60 depending on what you're getting.

Re: Pedals
I've only got a flanger missing from the sounds I'd like to have at my disposal, and apart from my wah it's all pretty cheap too, who can afford boutique gear apart from pros?
Anyway, I've got the Marshall Guv'nor 2, a rather nice little distortion with extra bottom end. A Boss PH-3 Phase Shifter. An Ibanez BC3 Chorus pedal, though it's designed for bass guitar, it sounds good with an LP and Marshall combo. Finally I have a George Dennis Parametric Wah-Volume pedal. Not a traditional wah, but it's a rather nice sound. As for buying anything musical, I'd always try before I buy. If you're getting it online cheaply, simply pop into your nearest large guitar dealer and try out theirs first before parting with your cash. |

Re: Pedals
I bought the Boss ME-50 and haven't looked back
I might buy a Dunlop Crybaby for the extra wah options but the pedal I have pretty much has it all. I got it for £129.00 from here: Eddie Moors Music - for the best music deals on the web The main reason I chose this pedal is because Boss have a damn good reputation, and I wanted a pedal which included the option to meddle with pitch shift, wah, volume, and octaving, all in one. The Delay has more options than the DD-6, and it's cheaper I mostly don't touch the middle pedal, just the distortion and delay. But it's got more than enough features for me to play around with. If you're rich, get individual pedals. but this thing is the best value pedal I've seen out there. ![]() |

Re: Pedals
Not a massive pedal enthusiast. I think most of them are over priced rubbish.
The Boss Blues Driver is a really nice distortion pedal though (if your using a tube amp anyway), and there digital delay and tuning pedals are great too. King of Pedals: ![]() |
