Re: What's it like playing live?

My favourite memory of a live gig was playing capitol in Glasgow. This huge drunk girl got onstage between songs and started singing mustang sally. So to cover we just let her go with it and played along with her! Matthew, The Bluffers |

Re: What's it like playing live?
Sometimes when I think I played well, no one liked it. Sometimes when I think I was terrible, everyone loved it. I've learned to stop second guessing myself and just let go when I play. It's quite an uplifting feeling when you're getting into the songs, and when you look out over the crowd, everyone else is joining in
Memorable? well my brother-in-law was playing at a gig once, he fell off the stage while playing, climbed back up while still soloing, and got a huge cheer when he finished the solo by leaping back onto the stage via his amp ![]() |

Re: What's it like playing live?
The first time I drummed live was a disaster. The floor tom fell over and the band got totally out of sync. We were a nightmare on stage. Fortuneately we didn`t stay that way and there`s nothing better than seeing the crowd really get into what you`re throwing down. I`ve been to plenty of shows that suck though and I hate the posers that call themselves artists and expect the crowd to dig them just because they`re on stage.

Re: What's it like playing live?
Depends on the band. The last band I was in, I was a vocalist and it was pretty extreme hardcore/metal/screaming noise type affair. I don;t really remember the shows to well. I just kinda threw myself about until I couldn't breathe properly. I was always black and blue by the end.
Another band I played bass in, actually came up on a E half way through our set once. Very hard to play the right thing, but you don;t really give a stuff. |

Re: What's it like playing live?
The important thing about the nervousness is you keep on playing even if you make a mistake. If you've played a song a thousand times you might still mess up on one thousand and one. The great guitarists just make up for any mistakes by putting even more effort into the next part
