Coheed & Cambria

I dunno what to think of this band. "Delirium Trigger", "Welcome Home" and "The Suffering" are great, great songs, but the rest sounds... I don't know if "emo" would be the way to describe it, but that's how it sounds.

It's funny how every single music demographic insists they're a different genre to what they listen to.

hmmm I never really thought of them to be progressive, but I am a huge fan.
Three Evils is another great song from them also.

Their newer album is more progressive than anything else. And it just happens to be the only one I like. Turbine was not so good, in fact, I only liked one or two songs. Their second album was terrible, and it wasn't until Apollo where I finally started to like them. I guess it's because they seem less obnoxious or something.

Really!?
Would you consider "Welcome Home" to follow the progressive style?

Especially that song. That's probably their most progressive.

Just listened to it again for the first time in a while.

Definatly has a progressive edge to it, but I wouldn't say so much that they're a progressive band. But I'm going to shut up now.

I'd call them emo. But they're horrible, absolutely awful.

EMO?!
Most overly used word to classify music, all music is emotional, if its not...it probably sucks. And honestly I don't hear anything emo-esque.

His voice? The use of huge amounts of diminished and major seventh-y chords (for want of a more technical term)?

Admittedly they're a step up from the bizarro emo of Cap'n Jazz or the mainstream emo of Panic At The Disco, but I think it's still emo. I respect them for having the whole comic book ethic going on, because for a band to have something that interesting behind them takes a bit of thought, but I still can't stand them.

Yes, all music is emotional, however, not all music is whiney/complain-y/i-want-to-slit-my-wrists-y.

Verging on Emo, but they keep original. The lead singer's voice, whilst high, is not essentially emo. Emo's tend to have unnaturally girly and high voices, whereas his, his more of his natural way of singing.
