Yeah we got it from wal-mart for like $100 or so dollars. Yeah I still need to learn how to play it, but its going so slow.

Re: My guitar

Protip: The strings that came with the guitar are shit.

Go get yourself some new strings if you think the guitar sounds dull. I can almost guarantee you you'll hear the difference. As for what kinds of strings to buy, that's almost entirely a matter of taste. There are thin strings, thick strings, crispy sounding strings, sharp sounding strings, coated strings, you just gotta find what works best.

Preferably, if you play actively you should be changing your strings at least monthly. So you should have time to figure out what kinds of strings work best for you. Just try all sorts. Standard thickness is 0.10 or 0.11, and alot of people use Ernie Ball, Dean Markley, D'Addario, and Elixir.

Re: My guitar

i started using Dean Markley 9s in 1984 (before that i used Ernie Ball), but i switched to GHS Tremolo Boomer 9s around 1991 and have stayed with them.

i use 9s on Fender scale-length instruments (25 1/2") and 10s on Gibson scale-length instruments.

that's what works for me, anyway.
