Nin

Anyone here particularly into Nine Inch Nails?

Got a few of their releases over Christmas: [WITH_TEETH], The Downward Spiral, The Fragile Nothing Halo Fourteen.

I remember one or two tracks being really big in the clubs in the early 90's, but not sure what to make of these albums yet...

I guess I just need to sit down and listen properly to a few.

Re: Nin

The Downward Spiral is their last great release, they went dowmhill after that. Broken is a great album.

Re: Nin

I disagree, I think With Teeth is a really good album. In fact, I've really enjoyed every release since The Downward Spiral.

Re: Nin

Each to their own, Fragile was good but With Teeth did nothing for me.

Having said that, "Hand That Feeds" was a highlight of their recent gigs.

Re: Nin

With Teeth took me a while to get into, but I've enjoyed it alot. I think it made a big difference that With Teeth was the first NIN album I ever really listened to. No expectations to ruin it then.

New album is coming out next month, and I don't really know what to expect. I'm very curious what direction they'll go in now. With Teeth was a good bit more poppy than their other releases. Will they backtrack that path, or continue down it?

Re: Nin

I've not heard their new stuff myself, they didn't play any at their recent shows, but there has been a lot leaked out on the internet. I'll try and get hold of some.

Re: Nin

When I saw them live, I felt fear yet safe. It was such a good concert. "Mr. Self Destruct" became my favorite song by Trent since it opened the show. And of course, The Downward Spiral is epic. I've heard half of the new album. It starts out really well but it pretty much goes downhill after that and I decide to switch albums halfway through it. However, songs like "My Violent Heart", "In This Twilight" and "Vessel" are excellent songs. I need to listen to the album in its entirety to make a good judgement.

Re: Nin

I've been listening to the leaks of the new one "Year Zero". So much work has gone into the concept behind it, but the music does sound ever so slightly dated now.

NIN FTW!! I wanted to go to their concert with 2 friends, but couldn't get money and ticket. Survivalism rocks but.

I've seen them twice. Once on the Downward Spiral tour and once on the With Teeth tour. I like the new stuff a lot too, though I never really got into the Fragile stuff.

Can't wait to see them again!

I have to agree it took me a bit to get into Teeth, but after awhile it grew on me and I started to like it more.

Pretty Hate Machine, Broken and The Downward Spiral are great records. It took me a while to get into Year Zero though and I'm not even going to bother with the remix album. They are amazing live and their set are always good.

I agree , they are ace live, I caught them at Leeds - and they were amazing - the visuals and sound they use on 'Great Destroyer' was just mindblowing -

Re: Nin

ive got with teeth, downward spiral, and year zero.

downward spiral didnt really do much for me, i liked closer and hurt but nothing else stood out. i loved with teeth and year zero.

the slip comes out end of the month right? the single off that album sounds quite good in my opinion.
