I showed up to look around, and I couldn't bear not to post...
Well, I've posted in the "Tell us a little bit about yourself" thread, but I thought I come over here and say hello, as well.
I see a few familiar names from familiar places, so hello again to you. And, nice to meet everyone else. Looks like there have been some interesting conversations going on.

Ah, finally! I've been waiting for you to come heat up this place a little. I tend to pay extra attention when you post on Chron, and I expect you will be an excellent contribution here too. You have my warmest welcomes. : )

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I hope I can make some contributions here...as I said over on the "Tell us about yourself" thread, I'm about as old as dirt, and I've been listening to music almost that long (I remember very well seeing the Beatles on the Sullivan show the first time they were on there, when I was 7 years old). But I don't know a lot of the new music, so I'm hoping to pick up some pointers in that direction here.

I guess we're opposites in that respect then, seeing as I grew up in the 90's. Apart from having studied the most obvious 60's bands (and I've actually seen the DVD released from that particular Sullivan show, I think), my knowledge of music is restricted to the last 15 or so years. Hopefully we can learn alot from eachother!
