Explosions In the Sky, The Age of Rockets.
I'm a noob here, so i'm not sure if there's a thread on them yet, but I absolutly love Explosions in the sky, and The Age of Rockets. It's great music to fall asleep to, it's peaceful on a ride home from the station, etc. If you don't know who these bands are, check them out immediantly.

i, brian has like 3 threads on the cure, so i dont think this place is that un-tolerant of that.

Haha, okay. I love that one too, very calming, Memorial is also good by them.

Re: Explosions In the Sky, The Age of Rockets.
check out the post rock thread, its around here summer, there are a bunch of post rock threads scattered around this place
Explosions in the Sky is awesome, somewhat overrated in my opinion they write great music, but nothing that groundbreaking, it's all been done before, that's not to say what it is isn't good though. |

Re: Explosions In the Sky, The Age of Rockets.
Explosions in the Sky were awesome when they released How strange, Innocence, and Those who tell the truth... There have been endless copy-cat bands though, and EitS themselves have not progressed much to emerge out of them again.
As post-rock goes there are some far more interesting bands around now.. im not going to list them cause they're all in the post-rock thread i made somewhere.

I have The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place (good album but a bit repetitive) and How Strange, Innocence, which I haven't heard yet. After that, what should I get? Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Live Forever I've heard was pretty good and that their last was pretty bad.

Re: Explosions In the Sky, The Age of Rockets.
I'm personally a huge fan of explosions - and even though the new album didn't really get a ton of positive feedback I thought it was great. The birth and the death of day is an awesome song - I'm a big fan of the gradual-build-up-then-explosive (no pun intended) payoff formula. And I also loved the music they did for friday night lights. i saw them play in philly a month or so ago and they're really one of the best live acts out there.
