Re: My Bloody Valentine

Honestly rickshaw, it sounds like you're talking about a different band entirely. Where do you get emo? I've never even heard an emo defender cite this band. Judging by the three comments you made I can only guess that either you don't like the name, you're pissed because you didn't "discover" them or you're just lashing out because you don't like to be wrong, but nothing in there tells me you've actually listened to them. Jeez, just take the loss and move on.

Talking Re: My Bloody Valentine

ok ok I'll stop BUT so what if my only intent was to get people mad and upset that doesn't mean everyone needs to post little cry story's (which i enjoy reading, i thank you) and i don't care "if i didn't I discover them" or whatever ideas you have. I'll try to make it simple I don't like them never will, to much credit is given and I feel everyone who likes them doesn't have good taste and that is all.........Now you send me a nice little story on how so and so did this and blah blah i don't know this blah blah I'm this and that blah blah and everyone will be happy.

I don't think anyone thought, "oh hey, this guy is making me SO MAD".

I thought "what a clueless fucktard. He disnae ken his arse from his elbow. Sucks to be him."

If you'd just said "I think MBV are a bit overrated" you mighta got somewhere.

Meh. I realized we're arguing quantum mechanics with a fetus.

Re: My Bloody Valentine

rickshawPhil does have a point about the coolness factor of a lot of bands, even if he is awful at trolling. There's been many a band I've heard that are meant to be seminal, the absolutely be all and end all to scenesters, but then they're just dross. In this case I personally don't think it's true.

Re: My Bloody Valentine

True but for me there is no hype, at least not nearly on the same level. I used to hate MTV with a passion; In fact I called it one of the true great evils of the world, but no more. I don't have it, I don't watch it and neither I nor my friends have the foggiest idea what is being shown on it anymore. And since I'm no longer locked into a building full of future morons on a daily basis I don't have to deal with cliques, fads or posers.

When something new or unfamiliar does enter my sphere all it takes is a quick search to determine whether I love it or hate it. I only have my ears to rely on, and that's one of the perks of getting older. Point was I didn't stop to think I might be addressing a very young person, so it's my own fault. I should have known this would happen when I joined a music discussion forum.
