(Then after writing this one it bumped up to 11...I'm confused.)

Good spot. I could've sworn I had enough to post a smillies or link, yet I couldn't. I look at my stats and though I've posted 20x I'm only credited 14x.

The only thing that comes to mind is the possible count of threads I've posted in rather than the actual number of posts.

You don't get credit for the posts made in general chat and music chat forums. This is to divert attention towards the forums that actually deal with music, which is what the site is about. So go post about your favorite bands, your postcount will increase in minutes.

Interesting - this is actually pretty accidental - part of Indie Rock Talk was imported from another forum where this was used, but I hadn't realised that this system would still be in place.

If anyone thinks it's a good or bad idea, feel free to let me know.

I think the idea's ok, but looking at the No. of lurkers each time I log in, I'd consider shutting sections, maybe just showing the titles in some others, to encourage those lurking to sign up.

I see that the site has only just over 2 posts per member, that's not cool.

Ah yeah, after seeing the number change when I made this post, I kind of figured the number of posts I was getting was more intended than a glitch in the system, but I was just making sure.

These may be the leftovers of disappointed spammers who discovered that their ads wouldn't work, and then left.

Also, unregistered lurkers are often google and yahoo spybots.
