Guruger
I stumbled upon this new site last night :: GURUGER ::, which is a little similar to LastFM, but rather than log your lsitening habits and letting people hear snippets, this allows you to make playlists stream direct from your hard drive, so that your friends can listen to your music in their web browser much like any other embedded audio.
At present it's in the Beta stage, but I think it has the potential to do pretty well with a few tweaks and so forth. Sadly it's only ten tracks per playlist, but then you can make as many playlists as you like, going as far as uploading the complete Led Zep catalogue if that's your whim. You can't currently view it without signing up, so I took a couple of screenies. The upload utility The main profile playlist page Playlist/player

Re: Guruger
The actual player is a Flash pop-up job, I'd hadn't actually attempted to play it till a little earlier hence no screenshot, and it seems to have glitches, but it is a Beta version these things are expected.
The final plan is to just have it shared with your friends only on there, you can make them same way as other networking sites or invite. Dunno if it would be susceptible to hackers or not, as it's served from your computer, but Flash is pretty difficult to hack as far as I know, and it's not as if it's Myspace and worthy of much hacking just yet. It has good potential though.
