First Concert.

Well I couldn't find a thread like this so I thought I would start it.

What was your first concert? Mine was The Wiggles before they were massive (they were just new and still pretty big then) at probably like Castle Hill RSL.

Re: First Concert.

My first and second were both The Cooper Temple Clause.

My first 'pub venue' concert was The Murder of Rosa Luxemburg. didnt know who they were at the time, then they split up, then became one of my favourite bands.

Re: First Concert.

First gig I actually bought a ticket and went to was Therapy?, Supported by Cop Shoot Cop and Sky Scraper. That was about 93.

I saw Deacon Blue play for free on Leith Links when I was about 12.

Re: First Concert.

My very first concert was Van Halen. I cannot even remember what year it was. But it was with David Lee Roth.

Re: First Concert.

I am absolutely mortified to say who the headliner at my first concert was...so I won't. Let's just say that I'm fairly sure that none of you have ever heard of him (it was that long ago) and it was a teeny-bopper thing - I was only twelve or thirteen, for Pete's sake. I will say, however, that the opening act was Steve Martin - yes, that Steve Martin, and he was, of course, very funny.

Re: First Concert.

Was it like Backstreet Boys or something. Man I would be embarrassed if that was mine.

Re: First Concert.

Well, it was way, way, way before the Backstreet Boys...but the same theory. Like I said, I was 12 or 13 years old at the time, and back then being 12 or 13 was a good deal different than being that age these days in a lot of ways.

Re: First Concert.

My first one was a local gig with Hollywood Handgrenade, it was pretty amazing at the time.

Re: First Concert.

Mine was the Smashing Pumpkins with Garbage opening in like 95. It was about a week before their Keyboardist died, and Jimmy Chamberlin got kicked out (I saw them in Buffalo, and all that happened in NYC.)

Re: First Concert.

I think my first gig was Delirious? in 2001, they were great but I've never really liked the big sweaty mosh pit atmosphere. Heh, my friend got busted for crowd-surfing even though it was me who threw him up there

Re: First Concert.

My first was in Darmstadt, Germany. An all day thing with lots of artists: Iron Maiden, Kansas, Foreigner, Blue Oyster Cult to name a few.

Re: First Concert.

I went to "Pink Pop" in Geleen, NL in 1984 to see Steel Pulse. It was an amazing experience for an American teenager living in Europe at the time.
