My mom took me to see The Banana Splits at the Short Hills Mall in NJ. I was REALLY little (under 5 yo) and we had just attended a funeral for a HS friend of hers who had been killed in a car accident. She didn't want the day to be a bummer for me, so we saw The Banana Splits. When I saw the drummer destroy his set at the end of the show, I knew I wanted to play drums.

Also I saw Kansas when I was in 7th grade. The brother of a friend of mine was a roadie, and we got back stage passes. Just after that, I saw 38 Special. My drum teacher's son was played drumd for the opening band - The Danny Joe Brown Band. Danny Joe Brown wqas the lead singer for Molly Hatchet.

The first concert I actually bought tickets for was RUSH.
