Re: hows the new elliot smith cd
Yeah its very solid, its in vein of self-titled and either/or mostly. All in all its good, theres some weaker tracks on it, but the good outweighs the bad most of its been available on b-side sites but they're cleaned up which is nice and theres some new tracks. High Times, All Cleaned Out and the early version of Miss Misery are my current favorites on it.

Re: hows the new elliot smith cd
Anyone want to recommend the best CD for someone who knows that he's absolutely going to love Elliot Smith, but doesn't know where to start? I know I really like "Roman Candle" and "Son of Sam" ...

Re: hows the new elliot smith cd
I'd go with From a Basement on the Hill, its kind of messy because he didn't mix it, but its got a variety of stuff its got his full band experimental stuff like Shooting Star and King's Crossing and his soft acoustic songs like Last Hour and Twilight.
If you can't get that one, then either/or is a good starting place, or Figure 8.

I couldn't agree more. "Needle In The Hay" is one of the deepest, most emotionally inspired song I've heard since Jeff Buckley's cover of "Hallelujah". |
