This is always the case with Bjork albums. Some songs are ace, then others just leave you scratching your head. She is definitely worth checking out for sure. Medusa is probably the easiest way into the magical fairyland that is Bjork's world.

Re: the ever so magical BJORK.....
I would definitely start with POST, and then HOMOGENIC. I think those definitely have the strongest songs, and they're my favorite. Vespertine and Medulla are more focused on texture than melody. Still good, but I prefer the first two. Enjoy!

Debut=dance, Post=pop, Homogenic=Electronica, Vespertine=dream pop, Medulla=experimental, Drawing Restraint 9=avant-garde, Volta=world Bjork stridently classifies herself as a pop artist. Probably the safest term for the press is alternative. Quote:
I love Volta even if it lacks the coherence of Vespertine. For the bulk of it I describe as a love story taking place in a warzone. There's moments of lilting quietute that fade to ominous marches and explosions before it all starts over. Political, timely and prophetic (not to mention has Chinese pipa and Chris Corsano) so I can't help but love it. Favorite tracks are "The Dull Flame of Desire", "I See Who You Are", "Vertebrae By Vertebrae", "Declare Independence"...ahh it's all good. |

Re: the ever so magical BJORK.....
I have never really listened to that many of her songs. I will have to check out some of them on the internet and see if I see what you all are seeing. I do know alot of people that like Bjork though.
