What's everyones view on all this? I ask because yesterday I was talking to a friend about it, I was of the opinion it's a bunch of fear mongering used by politicians/special interest groups to scare us into submission & he believes it is this looming reality we are all going to die from terrorist attacks or something.

While I admit there are all these nutcase fundamentalists extremists (on all sides of religion) I guess I just don't panic as easily as most.

Awareness that stops short of paranoia seems about right to me. It's the suicide bombers that there is no defense against.

Sounds about right to me.

The USA never banged the terrorism drum before 9/11, even though they had a history of funding terrorist group sponsorships across the world from the Cold War, not least in Afghanistan, plus fundraising for the IRA.

Dun get me wrong folks my heart goes out to those who died on 9/11 and in the England train bombing and the bombing in Spain all the people who are killed routinely in Iraq because of suicide bombers & the people who are killed in Israel by Palestinian suicide bombers.


I am just horrified by the way all this terrorism shit has been handle. All the political propaganda & the such.

It just bothers me that some people think that the first thing they should do if they get pissed off about something is go out and blow a bunch of people up. Or, that it's okay to kill anyone who doesn't believe in the same god they do. And there are demonstrably people who do believe that childish crap. And it is childish...just a more lethal form of throwing a temper tantrum. And I don't think these people should get their way.

On the other hand, I agree that the number of people who believe this is being blown (you should excuse the expression) all out of proportion by the leaders of certain governments in order for them to get their own colonialist way. It's called fear-mongering and, as far as I'm concerned, it is just another form of terrorism.
