anyone listen to them? i've downloaded a few tracks and really enjoyed it. Thinking about buying one of their releases..any suggestions?>

Yes! Definitely listen to the national, they're awesome. Their new album Boxer just came out a while ago and it's pretty solid. But my favorite album of theirs is Alligator, pick that up and listen to "Abel" and "Karen" which are my favorite songs. They also put on a really good live show, I saw them at Bowery Ballroom in nyc a couple weeks ago and the lead singer just gets so into it and the guy who plays electric violin is pretty cool to watch.

I listened to the Alligator (i think thats the title) it was okay but wasn't my thing.

Yeah, sometimes electric violin isn't for everyone. I wasn't super impressed either at first, but I gave it a couple listens and it really grew on me.
