Art Brut
I got "Its A Bit Complicated" cause one of my friends insisted i'd love them, and I do. The lyrics are some of my favorite in a long time lines like "You're worried and I have my doubts / But I'm drunk when I text / So I send 'post soothing out'", "I'm nothing to my peers but envy and hatred / How many girls have they seen naked?" and "People in love, lie around and get fat / I didn't want us to end up like that" make me really happy.
I don't know who to compare them to, there (most) similar artists on lastfm are, the Rakes, the Futureheads and the Libertines, no idea if thats true or not since I havnt listened to much of any of those bands in awhile and lastfm isn't accurate at all on some bands. Recommendations: People In Love Post Soothing Out Nag Nag Nag Nag Jealous Guy www.myspace.com/artbrut

Re: Art Brut
I really love the new album. I love them even more as a live act. Eddie Argos is hilarious/awesome to watch onstage. I saw them last fall in Philly and at one point in the show he just jumped offstage and ran through the crowd, punch-drunk. It was one of the most fun shows I've been to.

Re: Art Brut
My boyfriend stopped wearing jeans after he listened to Nag Nag Nag Nag.
"Wet trousers from the washing machine.. but I'd rather be damned than seen in jeans.." swear to god, he hasn't worn jeans for 3 months now!! Do you think he's mentally ill? |

Re: Art Brut
Just torrented (I know I'm a terrible person) both their albums and I must say it is awesome. I think they do sound a tiny bit like the Libs but seem to take themselves a lot less seriously. Fun music.

Re: Art Brut
Blame lastfm, I couldn't really think of any similar bands. They're kind of like the british hold steady I suppose, minus the springsteen with added punk.

Re: Art Brut
Listening to them more and more I am beginning to depart from my original view. I don't think they sound like the Libs at all right now. Perhaps it is unfair though to type them into Pandora or Lastfm. They are pretty damn unique... :P
