Re: Country Music
Just like any other kind of music, there is country I like and country I don't like. There's more I like now than there used to be, but I think that's because I've become more open-minded about it. Part of that has come from learning how extensively country and rock have cross-pollinated each other. Perhaps country hasn't been as much of an inspiration to rock as blues have, but especially here in the States there has been a lot of influence flowing back and forth for a lot of years.
Having said that, I like Keith Urban's work a lot...the passion that he shows in his songs show a definite rock sensibility. Toby Keith just cracks me up...some of his videos are hilarious. While Dixie Chicks have sort of distanced themselves from country since the whole controversy over what they said about George Bush, I think their music still has quite a country sensibility; I like them a lot. There are probably others I could add to the list, but it's too early on a Sunday morning here to think too much. ![]() ![]()
