Is this place dying?

I rather enjoy coming here and discussing bands, whether I know lots about them or very little. But doesn't it seem like a lot of people have disappeared?
Look how many people are registered here! What's going on?

I blame summertime.

Yeah, summertime is always a major culprit. More people will be on once school starts up, most likely, as well as when the colder weather sets in.

Indeed, but hopefully the new CD giveaways will also help. Will consider tickets in future as well.

Re: Is this place dying?

It's certainly picked up a lot since I joined in January. I used to pop on here every so often to see if anything needed moderating and then there were hardly any new posts. Now I'm coming here every day and there are almost always new posts. Hopefully, now that there are more people joining up and posting, they'll come back regularly and the site will become a lot more lively. And I think Brian's freebie idea will also help to attract more people.

Re: Is this place dying?

I really think it has to do with it being summertime and alot of people just are not on the computers as much. I mean I know I am spending more time outside then I am inside on the computer. I am sure it will start to pick up.

Re: Is this place dying?

Yeah, summer time probably does lure everyone outside...unless you live in the UK where it's constantly under water and it rains every bloody day. Mind you, today's nice and sunny and I have been out to finally see what that strange burning ball in the sky is all about...

Forums posts usually ebb and flow irregularly, It'll pick up again. Anyway, if there aren't enough people online you could invite some!

This place has yet to get busy enough for it to have died.

Re: Is this place dying?

I wouldn't worry. I've seen other forums that are far, far slower.

BTW, nice to meet everyone.

Re: Is this place dying?

I too have seen many forums that are much slower. It is probably summertime, people out and about. Yesterday it was 101 !!! I try not to go out in that weather, today it is suppose to be 88.

Re: Is this place dying?

This is true...I am under high stress debating on whether to go to Queens of the Stone Age or Kaiser Chiefs when both are going to be here on the same day...I think QoTSA is my top priority...then money for it...ahha

Re: Is this place dying?

Summertime always hurts forums. I've noticed during the summer, the only forums that have posters are the ones that are paying lol.. So maybe giving the CD's away will help give an incentive to some looking to post.

Re: Is this place dying?

There are some forums that are so dead, i can read all of the posts in one sitting (which is about an hour), and then be done, never having posted a single response. THAT is sad. This isnt that bad, although i did just look at a post nearly a year old, and it wasnt even that far down the list!

Re: Is this place dying?

Yeah this isn't bad, I was probably just really bored the day I started this thread. I know I don't venture into all of the topics either, so I am not really one to say it's dead. I think it was just to see who was really paying attention!
