Soundtracks

Was there any movie that you particularly liked the soundtrack for? There really haven't been many good ones lately, or am I missing something....

Re: Soundtracks

I don't really care for soundtracks, I think the only one we've got in the house is the soundtrack to Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny!

Re: Soundtracks

Conan The Barbarian is one of the best film soundtracks, IMO. There's real feeling between the different tracks, which move between thumping chorals, fun tavern music, despair and grief, love, and battle. Even my girlfriend likes it.

A lot of classical film scores have a couple of decent tracks with the rest as all repetitive fillers, but on Conan every track is unique and powerful in it's own right.

What's odd is that there are two versions available - the normal UK release with 12 tracks on, and a 16 track US import, which is worth spending $40 or so on just for the extra 4 tracks.

Bladerunner is another great and timeless soundtrack.

For anything outside of classical scores, I tend to listen to The Crow and Matrix soundtracks.

Re: Soundtracks

Any Dario Argento film scored by Goblin is usually pretty amazing too.

Oh yes. Not my favorite, but it's really good. The whole movie just feels more personal with Zach's chosen music.

Off the top of my head: Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Garden State, Thumbsucker, American Beauty, Everythings Gone Green, Good Will Hunting, and Wedding Crashers.
