Recommend me: good Indie

i definitely will recommend Broken Social Scene to anyone and everyone, and that generally branches off to Apostle of Hustle and Feist, which are/were all members of the band.

I need some recommendations. I am very new to indie. I am a very big death metal fan. I started listening to minus the bear because their guitarist used to be in a metal band called botch that I used to listen to. I would like to find some indie stuff that's kind of sick, twisted, and psychotic lyrically and musically. I recently discovered Rogue wave and they're pretty good but I need more and it soooo.. hard to find anything specific in the alternative rock genre because there is way too much out there. Can anyone help me out?? Not too Lo-fi either. I like the production on the Rogue wave CD "Descended like Vultures" I appreciate it..
