An Indie Dark Side of Oz anyone?

The other day I was going through the various blogs of the world when I came to Music (For Robots)--there was a posting about an album called "A Leaf; A Stream" by a band called the Lightning Bug Situation. In the comment part of the posting there was this guy going on and on about how this particular album, when played while watching the 1972 Russian version of Solaris with the sound off--they go together--like Dark Side of the Moon and Wizard of Oz--he even had this crazy myspace page detailing how it all worked.

Well, maybe I'm a little bit of a music dork, but I got the album (the review was really complimentary) and I rented the movie (I'd always heard it was good) and I tried it, thinking, "There no way this is really going to work."

Well. Guess what. It works. So my question is: how come I had never heard of this band before? And has anyone else tried this? I ain't no crazy person.
