Radiohead InRainbows

Anyone else download this?

Currently listening to it and it sounds really good so far - nothing lacking here.

Anyway, anyone else listened to this yet? What did you think?

Also, did you pay anything for the download? I paid £5 on account of it being mp3 format but if available in normal wave format would have paid £10.

Re: Radiohead InRainbows

I downloaded In Rainbows a few weeks back and think it is quite good, but for me not as good as OK Computer. I paid around $7, from memory i think one third of people paid nothing.

Re: Radiohead InRainbows

So this was where you could name your own price?

I must have been looking in the wrong place. I got a link from my friend, but on that page the price was unadjustable.

I figure most of the people who don't pay for it wouldn't have anyway.

My girlfriend wants to buy the original CD for it when it becomes available.

I paid approximately $8.00 for the album. Good stuff.

Re: Radiohead InRainbows

Our college radio station had it donated to us and I think it's one of their best. It's not as out there as like Kid A, so I liked it more.

I think the average price paid was like $2, which is still more than any band, even the beatles, ever got per unit. This is definitely a nail in the coffin of major label hegemony.

Awesome album, alot more user friendly than previous albums I felt. Reckoner is definitely the best song on the album in my opinion.

Great listen all the way through. I particularly like Arpeggi.

My favorite was 15 STEP. I think that Thom's experience with not using effect on his voice helped to make this album a little more raw, what does anyone else think?

Yeah, definitely, in amnesiac, hail to the thief and kid A he's kind of going for the muffled/distorted voice as though he's trying evoke the feeling of society crushing him or stifling his emotions; while the new album definitely has a more organic feel which I like very much. It almost sounds like Thom's overcoming of anxieties and he is now finding his most raw expression. Great album
