Which was the best Pink Floyd album between 1973 and 1995?

This was a tough one for me. A choice between Darkside, The Wall and Division Bell. Depending on my mood my choice would and will change between those 3. Today though, its got to be The Wall.

I don't know what it is about "A Momentary Lapse of Reason", but it just speaks to me. The title song, as well as "Learning to Fly" are my favorites.

'A momentary lapse' is one of the most overlooked albums in the PF discography. Me, I chose Animals - it has most of the elements that became the trademark sound people associate with the Floyd today, but it was still fresh and new at that point.

I heard Darkside after hearing people rave about it - and frankly, it all went tover my head. I just didn't understand why it was seen as such a masterpeice.

The Wall, on the other had, is pretty obviously a musical achievement. Comfortably Numb - oh, yeah. Superb film, too - and it astonishes me that I've never seen positive comments about David Geldof's acting in it. He may not have "acted" the part like dialogue-based films would demand, The Wall being much different - but he certainly carried the role well.

As if I think Darkside of the Moon is an amazing album. It is so diverse, and every song on it is a masterpiece in my opinion. The Wall is much darker, and arguably more coherent, and yes the video is great (and thats Bod Geldof BTW ).A Momentary Lapse of Reason and Animals are both spectacular albums. Notable tracks off Lapse for me are "On the turning away", "Learning to fly" and "Sorrow". My favorite track off Animals is "Sheep".

In my opinion, Geldof did a wonderful job in "The Wall". Much more difficult, when you don't have spoken dialogue to work with, but only one's physical self to communicate with.

I've got a big thing for Division Bell at the moment. It's just so ambient, Cluster One! Enough said!

I've just rediscovered Wish You Were Here. I hadn't listened to it in ages, I cannot get enough of it at the moment, that haunting synth, mmmm. I cant believe I didnt even mention this album before!

I like Wish You Were Here but I did like a few songs on Dark Side of the Moon not to mention Animals. However, I love death, speed, power, kill everybody metal so I couldnt be much of an authority on this.

I do love playing Dark Side of the Moon synchronically with The Wizard of Oz though... or I did... back in the "dayz".
