Avant Garde/Experimental Music from the 1950's to late 1960's

Hello all )

I'm a new member, and i'm mainly here as i wanted to pick peoples brains for my Dissertation research. I am currently in my third year of a Music Production degree.

I am doing my Dissertation on the Avant garde/Experimental Music from the early 1950's to the late 1960's. I'm mainly talking about the music associated with John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Philip Glass, Steve Reich etc.

The main point to my Dissertation is to find out whether or not this Music has been accepted to todays audience.

I hope people can discuss this, i'd like some honest opinions to whether any of you like this Music, or hate it, or like some of it etc.

I'd be very greatful for your comments and opinions )

Thank you,

Glen
