Anybody familiar with the Revolution Summer movement?

To be honest, today's emo is not my cup of tea.

But emocore, as a genre to describe music, made it's appeance several years ago(mid 80s), when a Washington D.C. label called Dischord, gathered all those great musicians who emerged from hardcore's first wave. Well, none of those guys accepted the term emo, saying what's probably right, that emotional music, is not the characterestic of a particular genre.

Nevertheless, Rites of spring was/is possibly the first true emotional band. Other great bands of that era are, Embrace, Dag Nasty, Shudder to Think, Fire party etc.

Anybody familiar with that stuff?
