Fleet Foxes

Theres been much buzz around this band, so I finally took a listen on their myspace profile and really like them. They fall under the same genre like Rogue Wave, The Shins, M. Ward, etc., etc...
Your views of them? How long have you listened to their music? Opinion on their latest album?

MySpace.com - FLEET FOXXXXXES - SEATTLE, Washington - Zouk - www.myspace.com/fleetfoxes

take a listen!

Re: Fleet Foxes

Every Forum that I go to has someone talking about this band. I took a listen earlier and didn't think that I liked it too much but then again I didn't really like the Shins too much neither so mayeb that now makes sense.

maybe I need to hear it a bit more.

Have you seen them live?

Re: Fleet Foxes

I know what you mean. Thats how I felt the first three or four times I listened to them. They sounded really blase to me at first. In fact, they still do lol. Looking back on this post I kinda regret praising them as much as I did, because it actually took awhile for me to warm up to them.
My definition of indie has broadened over the years, and I feel like their sound is very generic and dated. If I were to hear them three or more years ago I'd be impressed and think they sounded innovative, but now they just sound like your run-of-the-mill neutral indie rock ensemble.
I'm not saying they're horrible and I'd never listen to them, I do like their songs, but nothing its nothing I haven't heard before...

Re: Fleet Foxes

I heard the hype and also checked this band out... I think they are coming around a little late for their sound has already been done before so many times and better... they sure got big quick but I really don't think it will last

Re: Fleet Foxes

I adore Fleet Foxes. I've missed two of their shows because I didn't expect the tickets to sell out so quickly. :/ Lesson learned.

Re: Fleet Foxes

Maybe your right sometimes you do have to give some things more than 1 listen to hear how good it is...
