Re: What punk are you listening to?

I'm still not entirely sure where the boundaries of "Punk" lie, but I enjoy listening to MXPX, and I consider Relient K to be vaguely punkish

Dead Kennedys are amazing. Punk perfection in my opinion. Black Flag flirted with metal/hardcore and minor threat was a bit TOO simplistic for my tastes. DK were just there and did what they did the best they could. Long live Jello Biafra, the last true punk.

I agree completely. Though both Black Flag and Minor Threat are HARDCORE punk bands. I still like to say that that's REAL hardcore. What people started calling hardcore in the 90's should be a subcategory to a metal-genre. not hardcore which is a punk genre.

Anyway to stick to the point, my favourite punkband is Swedish and not very big. Not even nationally. So you guys wouldn't know who they are anyway and you probably wouldn't apprieciate the music since it's in swedish (the lyrics in punk is of great importance, you know). But i also like hardcore punk bands like BAd brains, black flag and (a little) minor threat.

Re: What punk are you listening to?

If you like those bands you'll love Avenged Sevenfold's new self-titled album. If you haven’t picked it up yet, I recommend the MVI version because it has two discs. It has a DVD, a make-your-own-ringtones program, buddy icons, lyrics, and tons of videos. It has a bunch of videos, including a Making Of, and animated short, a Studio Tour and more. And of course it also has the regular CD so you can listen in your car! Check out the website for more information or just post a question and I will respond. I work with the agency promoting this exciting new release.

Thanks,
Laura

Double Nickels on The Dime is such a fantastic album

I'm listening to:
The Fall - so much to come from this band
Nation of Ulysses
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures, but Closer and Substance are good too
Hüsker Dü - mainly Zen Arcade
Fugazi
fIREHOSE
Minutemen
French Toast
Public Image Ltd. - self titled, Metalbox, and what was.. I think.. voted as the most avant-garde album produced - Flowers of Romance

I was just gonna ask if anyone remembered the Punk Vol...i don't remember what volume but it had Agnostic Front on it and the Red Ants "poison steak" so good!

It's been a while since I went to warped tour (in the states) but I'm pretty sure Agnostic Front is playing most of the dates
