Massive Attack
Did a quick search on these guys and couldn't find a specific thread. Shame on you all!
Anyways, one of my favourite groups to listen to ever when I'm in the mood to just chill. I loved Mezzanine (first album I heard), all of it is just so great, and truly awesome. My favourite stuff to daydream to. I remember hearing Dissolved Girl on the Matrix, I bought that soundtrack specifically for that song. Kinda dissappointed when it wasn't there (though still a good cd). Eventually realised it was by Massive Attack and decided it was long past time I got my hands on these guys. Lucky me has a friend though who bought it for me on my 16th BDay. I've been listening to it non-stop for the past four years. I think Tear Drop was the very first song I heard of theirs, saw it on a plane I think.... Finally managed to listen to Protection and Blue Lines two years ago, still waiting to get my hands on 100th Window. Missed out on seeing them live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn I was so cut. So very very cut. Buggar. Anyways, who else is into these guys? what do you think about them? I'm often surprised at how many people havn't heard of them... |

Re: Massive Attack
Had to go chase this downstairs - I knew I had one of their albums: "Blue Lines" - the song "Unfinished Sympathy" is the jewel of the album (I actually thought it was "Unfinished Symphony" until just now!). This was one of the bands I was chasing down a few years back after hearing some somewhere - but I never found "Blue Lines" to be particularly inspiring in itself, so I never really looked at the other releases. "Unfinished Sympathy", which I found myself playing repeatedly, though.

Re: Massive Attack
Get Mezzanine! I love it, I really like their stuff. Only thing is, each album has a very different feel to it. Which is a good thing, except I remember being kinda dissappointed in say Blue Lines, cos I was expecting something completely different. *shrugs* I like their style, thats all that counts

Re: Massive Attack
How did I miss this topic? I enjoy Massive Attacka lot, one of the few all-out elctronic bands I really love.
Mezzanine and Protection do it for me. I did not like the new one 100th Window that much at first, but just over the last few days I've been rediscovering it! There's some great stuff there, and a very good job by Sinead O'Connor. |
